I grew up in the Mallee district of Victoria, Australia, completed high school at PLC in Melbourne, and earned a B.A. (Hons.) in History, and a Diploma of Education, from Monash University in Melbourne. My career has included teaching, book selling, and publishing. From the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s, when Australian books were difficult to obtain in the U.S., I imported and sold them throughout the nation under the business name The Australian Book Source. Later, I was awarded the M.S. in Counseling from Sacramento State University. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, specializing in the treatment of survivors of trauma. I’ve lived for periods of time in the U.K. and Norway, and have made my home in Davis, California for over four decades. I am married and have three grown children. I travel to Australia every year.
